Being a member of the Krewe of Antheia offers the chance to ride on one of their floats in the annual parade. You get to participate directly, wear a costume or themed attire, join in the pageantry, and enjoy the atmosphere from the inside rather than as a spectator. Attractive “throws” (items thrown to the crowd, such as flower crowns or decorated headbands) are part of their identity, so members often are involved in those — either creating them or distributing them.
Another key perk is community and connection — you become part of a sisterhood, meeting people with shared values, and contributing to local philanthropy. The Krewe of Antheia emphasizes its community engagement in St. Tammany Parish. Members often get social benefits: parades, special events, possibly members‑only gatherings, recognition (e.g., in Krewe publicity or parade listings), and being part of something meaningful locally. There’s also the joy and prestige of helping build a newer krewe in its formative years, which can give members more voice or role in shaping traditions.
